Lane United FC Brings the Beautiful Game Home to Eugene
The semi-pro soccer club has spent nearly a decade building community through football, one summer season at a time.
A Club Nine Years in the Making
Lane United FC is a men's soccer club competing in USL League Two, the fourth tier of the American soccer pyramid. Founded in 2013, the club has spent the better part of a decade putting down roots in Eugene, and that history is part of what makes it tick. Head Coach John Galas remembers coming out as a kid to watch the games and serve as a ball boy. Getting to lead the club now, he says, is something special.
Local Roots, Global Roster
The squad is a mix that reflects both the neighborhood and the world. Local players who came up through Eugene-area youth programs and high schools return to pull on the Lane United jersey, while others travel from as far as Memphis, Spain, and Italy to spend three months here as part of the club. It is a short season, but the connections it creates tend to last.

More Than a Match Day
The experience around the game is part of the draw. The club hosts food trucks and a beer garden on match days, and the surrounding neighborhood offers pubs and restaurants within easy reach before kickoff. It is the kind of setup that turns a soccer match into an evening out, whether you are coming with old friends or bringing the family for the first time.
